Tobler Family Christmas Drawing

This is the official adult drawing for Christmas this year. We have it on video to capture the authenticity of the event. We didn't want anyone to think it was rigged!

I would just type it out and let you know who you give to, but the suspense is so much better :o) Get excited because you're about to find out who you give to for Christmas this year...

The Art Project!

Sarah brought an art project for Spencer and Audrey to do this weekend. They had a blast, and the parents did too.

The solemn painter... there's no fun and games here - this is serious stuff!
check out the skills!

Major supervision on this one. Audrey painted the Frankenstein and Spencer painted the pumpkin. They looked awesome!

Time for hand prints....

I couldn't keep my arm off of the page :o)

Nate's State Cross Country Meet

Nick, Spencer, Jen, Nate and Stephanie
Nate is a senior this year, so this was his last High School race. We lucked out because they held the State meet here in Boise. Stephanie came down for the weekend and we all went to watch him run Saturday at 2:00 p.m. He ran well and had a best time by 1 second. We were excited for him!
Check out the awesome photography on this beauty of a picture. Notice how clean and clear Nate is and everyone else is a blur :o) Sweet camera moment... Thanks Sarah for letting me use your camera!

Nate and his team at the start...

Nate #415

Go NATE!!!

Happy Halloween

Counting out the spoils... Spencer was already on a sugar high! What's one more sucker right before bed?
Trick or Treat! Chad, Sarah and Audrey came down to visit for Halloween. They were the inspiration behind the family themed costumes. They depicted the Little Mermaid quite well. You just can't get enough of Chad in that crab suite :o)

Strut your stuff... ruff ruff! I think Spencer would have preferred to stay home and dig through the candy pot we had by the door for the trick-or-treaters. Why go out and do all this work when there's so much candy at home? I think we went door to door just to show off our awesome costumes. The parents were more into it than the kids were.

Sarah, Jen, Spencer, and Kara - the Dinner party! We ate the traditional soup with bread bowls and candy all night!

Tobler Family presents...101 Dalmatians!

Grab the candy and go...

The Tibbitts family

Okay - so I have to brag just a little. I couldn't find the right costume, so I made my own... I don't really sew that much, and thus I was super proud of my accomplishment. (Side note: It does happen to be a fuzzy white bathrobe that I stitched on top of, but still creative - right!? thanks Mom for the cleaver idea)

Snow!?

Uncle Derek and Aunt Kristi came to Boise to visit me, so everyone else came too. Aunt Kristi loves the snow... it came just for her!
My new snow coat for winter time! It's kind of bulky...
"Save me from this cold wet stuff!"

Checking out the New Office

Is all of this stuff for me to play with?

My daddy is so cool... he makes me laugh!

This is Nick's desk where he does his work for Deloitte each day. Check out the big nerdy calculator - I think Nick was a little embarrassed by that one!

Nick's, welcome to the job, week two (I will try to relay this story the best I can)

The back ground: The Deloitte office is set up in sort of a square shape. In the middle of the square are larger offices with glass windows where the Partners and higher up people sit. On the outside closer to the windows are the cubicles for all the staff positions etc. (like Nick's desk) Some of the desks have filing cabinets in front of them...

Nick is working on a few projects passed down to him from people above him. As he finishes his sections of a case he takes it over to who gave it to him for review so it can be added back to the whole file. On Thursday Nick finished a file and was walking it over to Laura for review. Laura happens to have filing cabinets in front of her, so people tend to use it as a shelf to place things on while they talk. As Nick approached the drawers he leaned up against them to speak to her. After a minute or so he realizes his belt buckle is pushed into the filing drawer and has lodged itself there. He tried to move a little bit and get unstuck, but no use... he only had about a 1/2 inch leeway . He stared realizing that this was going to look awkward if he started moving to much. He told Laura that he was stuck. She didn't get it "you're stuck on a problem? You need help?" Nick, "No, I'm stuck to the filing cabinet." Laura, "What? You're kidding me..." All of a sudden the guy next to Laura catches on to what has happened and the two of them are busting up. Then "Joe-shmoe" turns the corner and sees the whole situation. He starts shouting to the whole office to come and see. He is gathering people from all over to check this out. People are whipping out their phones and taking pictures. Meanwhile Nick is sweating bullets. He honestly can't budge. He's tried every ones suggestions besides the "you may have to take your pants off" one. It's been about 10 minutes now with no success. One of the Partners in the office comes around the corner to see why no one is working and he can hear uncontrolled laughter. He takes one glance at Nick and everyone standing around and announces that he doesn't even want to know what's going on :o) Finally two of the guys get on either side of Nick and push down as hard as they can in order to pop out the buckle. Nick is free... but he has earned the name BUCKLE around the office.

*Side note... we had a fun time at Nick's office party on Friday. Everyone made sure to mention the Buckle incident, and we had a great laugh with the Partner, that didn't want to know what was going on. I guess Nick's professional career isn't over after all.

Did you here the Good News?!

Kristi and Derek now have a blog! Check it out at derekandkristi.blogspot.com

On the Road...Off the Road, and all Packed Up!

We SOLD our home in Springville around the middle of July and have been living with famliy for the past 2 months.
A BIG THANKS to...

My parents (we stayed there for 2 weeks)

Nicks parents (we stayed there for 2 weeks)

Chad and Sarah (we stayed there for 1 week)

Kara and Kevin (we have been here for a 1 1/2 weeks and are currently here)

We put an offer on a home in Boise and are still waiting to here the final word. We have loved traveling and being with family, but I think we're ready to unpack our suitcases and stay a while in our own place. I for one had a falling out with my suitcase and started chucking everything all over the room in a mad attempt to find my blow dryer. This was the first signal that I was going to snap if I had to live out of a suitcase one more day.

Nick started work with Deloitte last Monday. He had a training in San Francisco his first three days, but he his now in the Boise office and enjoying his new career. I think today was his first day of real work, so we'll see how things go.

Trip to Idaho - Middle of July

Chad Dad Nick
Nick's first fishing trip... after a long day of casting his line he finally brought up this beauty.
"What a Catch" - at least it was a fish. Jen and Sarah went downstream to see if they could out catch the guys. My catch was way bigger... I got my hook caught on a rock in the middle of the stream just in time for a group of rafters to float by. I hollered out to them to watch for the caught line, but the 12 year old girl didn't lift her legs up in time - thus netting herself with my line and capsizing her with her inner tube. She bounced up choking and coughing as her family yelled to her to turn around and walk towards shore. So... I felt like crap! And needless to say I went back to grazing the picnic food and left the fishing to the men :o)

Nick, Spencer, Jen, and Stephanie

We went jet skiing with the family - this was Spencer's first time on the water.

Chillin' in the pack-n-play in the great out doors. Can life get any better than this? I submit that it cannot.

Olympic Trials Omaha - June 2008

On the airplane headed to Omaha, Nebraska

When we landed they sent us immediately into a tornado shelter due to severe thunderstorms and high winds. We were a little frazzled and confused, but we were just happy to land safely. As we drove to our hotel we could clearly see that the storm did it's damage... the power was out everywhere and trees were up rooted all over town. The 20 min. drive from the airport to our hotel took us 3 1/2 hours due to detours, whole trees blocking the road, you name it! We sure felt bad for the people of Omaha - what a mess and it caused a lot of damage to their homes and property...

Good luck at Trials NICK!!! Nick and Spencer overlooking the Omaha Pool. What an awesome place. Nick had a wonderful time swimming there. You could feel the excitement in the air from all the athletes and fans. Nick had two wonderful swims - they weren't his best times, but he said he loved swimming with all the hype and competition. He liked it so much he did a time trial just to swim one more time before throwing in the towel.

WE LOVE YOU NICK - YOU'LL ALWAYS BE OUR HERO!!

Spencer is getting close to Walking...

Let's back things up a bit...

Derek, Kristi, Nick and Jen
Nick graduated from BYU in the MAcc program - Kristi graduated from the business school.
Congratulations you two :o)

Jen and Nick celebrated graduation and their birthdays! What a fun week!

Spencer's first pony ride! We loved it... he was a little freaked out.

We joined Zach, Andrea, and Annistyn at the petting zoo. The little guys thought this was really fun. Spencer was having a great time until we had him feed a goat - that was scary!

Derek and Kristi got married on May 16, 2008! They didn't ride off on his motorcycle, but I'm sure they wished they could - too much luggage I guess :o)

Spencer looking dang cute sitting in the sink...

Nick did the Splash-n-Dash at BYU. Not to brag but...he took 1st place in the standard division. When he jumped out of the pool the guy sitting next to me was astonished. (Who said swimmers have the advantage?!!)

Almost Cafe' Rio...

It only took Nick and I six hours of preparation and cooking... but by 9:00 p.m. we had a delicious meal. Next time I suggest just going out to eat. It's faster!!! Costs less!! and you don't have to eat the leftovers for a week! (But boy did it taste great)

Spencer learned to drink from a straw :o) Yipee, eating out just got easier.
