Merry Christmas!

Dear Family and Friends,
This year Jen retired from her long professional career as a teacher. She planned on a nice retirement living off of Nick’s income. However, he still has a few more months until he graduates from the Master of Accountancy program. Thus we are counting down the days to our new job and adding up all the things that have happened this year. Numbers are flying, so here we go...

3 years of teaching under Jen’s belt before she retired.
15 credits left before Nick graduates this coming April.
1,000,000 little hairs Nick had to shave in order to taper properly for Nationals in
Indiana this summer.
0 times Nick and Chad beat Jen and Sarah in a game of Carcassonne this year.
132 days we had Spencer’s swing up before he was born
41 weeks of waiting for our bundle of joy to arrive.
2 feet of growth (that’s ten toes) in our family this year with the arrival of Spencer on
June 23rd.
6 plane flights Spencer went on before he was two months old.
20 hours of practice Nick puts in each week in order to train for Olympic Trials.
3 times Spencer wakes up in the night to eat.
8 alligators Nick saw while in Florida participating in the Deloitte Tax Challenge.
500 dollars awarded to each member of the BYU tax team for taking 2nd place.
1 flat tire we got after all of our driving from Springville to Provo.
9 week old Spencer received his baby blessing given to him by Nick.
4 meetings Nick attends each month for his calling as Ward Mission Leader.
10 girls in the ward Activity Day’s group that Jen is over.
180 degree turn we took in our lives with the first diaper change that ended up
being a blow out.
24 hours Nick spent in Boise being dined by Deloitte his future employer.
4320 minutes it took us to accept and sign the offer to work for Deloitte in the Boise
office starting next September.
12 0’clock at night – our new bed time.
34 family and friends we have linked to our blog address at: nicholasandjen.blogspot.com
1178 minutes Nick and Jen spend talking to each other on the phone between classes
each month.
∞ number of times Spencer smiles and giggles throughout the day.

We can’t place a number value to your love and friendship. We wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love, The Tobler Family (Nicholas, Jennifer and Spencer)

Happy Halloween!

I think Spencer really enjoyed Halloween this year. However, I'm sure it will only get better once he can eat the candy! The middle picture is from the Mystery Dinner Date Nick and I hosted the weekend before Halloween. My character was Burnadette Down (an artist) and Nick was Dunchan Flushwater (the school nerd/wiz kid) We had a great time!

Nate's Cross Country Meet

We pulled a Kristi - Saturday morning we woke up and, on a whim, drove up to Idaho Falls for the weekend to watch Nate run in the State Cross Country Meet. He did awesome. Nate dropped quite a few seconds and ran a best time! Go Nate! I think he has an advantage because of his long legs.

Happy ZZZzzzz...

Kara - These are the cute pj's you sent Spencer!
He loves them :o)
Hey everyone, Spencer still isn't consistent with his sleeping patterns, but I'm happier than ever... he gave us 9 1/2 hours of pure sleep the other night. Oh the simple joys of parenthood.

This is what Aunt Karen would call "Milk Drunk" - He took two sips and his eyelids shut!

Life is Full of Greats...

This is Spencer with his Great Grandpa and Granda Meyer. They were in town last weekend for a funeral, so we got to see them and our other Aunts and Uncles!

Recent Activity at the Tobler's

Nick and Spencer at the Deloitte Conference Dinner...
All the big accounting firms were on campus doing their recruits this past week. Nick would still love to work for Deloitte and we are pursuing the Boise, Idaho office. Nick didn't have to do an interview with Deloitte this week because he already went through that process over the summer. We're now just waiting to hear back from the company and hopefully they'll have an offer for us. The next time they can contact us is Oct. 4th, so we'll keep you posted.
Jen has joined a flag football team with all of the girl cousins in Provo. We had a fun practice game the other night, and we hope to sneak in some great plays in our up coming game. Jen has been busy strategizing with cousin Ryan and they think they've come up with some pretty good stuff - too bad were not allowed to tackle!

BYU Football Fan...

Spencer enjoyed his first football game - BYU vs. Arizona!
We spent most of our time putting sunscreen on him and trying to stay shaded.

Memories...

While Nick's Mom, Janet, was in town we went up to Sundance and had lunch. We went back to the spot where Nick proposed just over two years ago. If only Spencer knew...that's where it all began! I don't think we had him in mind the last time we were standing on this bridge. Time sure passes quickly.

Spencer's Baby Blessing

Spencer was blessed by his daddy on Sunday the 26th of August. We were happy to have so many of our family members present at the blessing.

Sara Tibbitts took Spencer's baby pictures at three weeks. These are a few of his adorable photos. He was a little too awake for part of the photo shoot, but he did great.

Give Me Wings To Fly!

This was Spencer's first time on a plane! He did great. He slept the whole way there and back... Nick had a conference in Scottsdale, Arizona for Deloitte the accounting firm he would like to work for starting next summer. Spencer and I joined him for the week. However, while Nick stayed at the hotel and went to the classes we stayed at his parents home. We hung out with the Tobler clan. Nick's parents and all of his siblings now live in Arizona with thier families. Let's just say it was one big party!

Guy Time!

Dad and I like to hang out and take naps together, but
I'm too busy to sleep!
We're not sure what this face means... anyone else know?

Dad took me to the BYU pool for the first time to watch him swim. I was all ready to sign my contract for a swim scholarship for 2025, but I wasn't able to hold the pen.

Mother Son Time!

Basically, mom is really tired and can pretty much fall asleep wherever she is. I'm sure this has nothing to do with our all night parties!

Time To Meet The Cousins

Uncle Marc and Cousin Jackson are glad to have another boy in the family!

Spencer got to meet his cousins for the first time.
Unfortunately he didn't seem to get too riled up about it...
he slept through the whole thing!

Spencer Nathan Tobler

Spencer finally decided to join our family Saturday evening the 23rd of June at 6:41 p.m. He weighed 9 lb. 6 oz. and was
an immediate thumb sucker!

Baby Spencer's Birthday Bash!

We are really excited for baby Spencer to get here. Today we are celebrating his birthday, but it's a surprise party and we're not sure if he will show up!
We're excited about the cake though...

Mommy Wow, I'm a Big Kid Now!

It looks like this guy isn't getting any smaller.
As a matter of fact, the doctor says we're all baby!

Heart Two Heart

We sure do love this little guy!

BYU Corporate Climb!

The side of Nick many of you thought you'd never see and most of you thought there never was!
This is Nick on the right with his two buddies from the accounting program. They are warming up to run the six lap relay up and down seven flights of stairs!
Does this change your view of accountants yet?
